UX Research & Redesign for AI Photo Editing Apps

Dexati  •  Wesley Belknap  •  October 2021 - February 2022

I conducted UX analysis and redesign work for a suite of mobile applications at Dexati, a San Francisco-based app development company with over 850 million downloads and 60 million monthly active users.

Focused on photo editing applications leveraging AI-based image enhancement, I evaluated seven established products to identify usability issues and opportunities for improvement.

My research approach combined large-scale review analysis, including synthesizing thousands of user reviews per app, with competitive analysis of industry leaders such as Adobe and PicsArt.

These insights informed redesigned user flows and interface improvements aimed at increasing usability, clarity, and overall user experience.

The following work highlights before-and-after comparisons of key screens, demonstrating how research insights were translated into design solutions.
